JOB ROLES
Job Roles
The responsible individual's role is to support the Homes Manager in ensuring that the home is being run safely and efficiently in line with company policies and fully compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements. The Responsible Individual will help the home manager develop and embed a culture built on openness and honesty where the highest possible outcomes can be achieved for the children, young people, and the team.

Induction

At Our Sanctuary, we are passionate and committed to seeing our children and young people develop and grow. We are equally dedicated to supporting the growth of our teams, ensuring every team member within the home thrives in their professional development and advancement within Our Sanctuary homes.

We understand that a team member’s first impression plays a pivotal role in how they view our organisation. Drawing from relevant research, we recognise the positive impact a comprehensive induction programme can have on our team members, helping to alleviate any anxiety they may feel.

During the 6-week probation period, each new team member will be assigned a designated work mentor who has already completed their own probation. This mentor will support the new team member in getting to know the team, the children, and young people, while offering guidance and support as needed.

Throughout the 6-week induction, team members will receive their Our Sanctuary Induction Standards folder. They are expected to work through and complete this during their probation, alongside participating in a variety of training opportunities, including on-the-job learning, classroom-based sessions, and online training. In addition, they will receive fortnightly supervision from the Manager or Deputy Manager.

Develop With Us

At Our Sanctuary, we understand that for some team members, their current role is their dream job — and we are committed to supporting them to become the best version of themselves in that role. For others, joining Our Sanctuary may be the first step in a journey of growth and advancement — and we take pride in supporting those aspirations too.

Formal Training

Our Sanctuary is dedicated to developing our team members’ skills and knowledge so they can provide the highest standard of care to our children and young people. We actively seek to stay up to date with the latest methods, research, and training opportunities to support this.

We are proud to employ people from all walks of life, each bringing unique experiences, skills, and expectations. We also recognise that individuals learn in different ways.

To further support our team, each new member completes the Honey and Mumford Learning Styles Questionnaire during their introduction. This helps identify their preferred learning style and allows us to create a personalised, holistic training plan tailored to their needs.
